§ 14-8.004. Violation—Punishment.

  • (a)

    Infractions.

    (1)

    Except as otherwise provided by statute or this code, every infraction violation of this code is punishable by a fine not exceeding one hundred dollars for a first violation, a fine not exceeding two hundred dollars for a second violation of the same ordinance within one year, and a fine not exceeding five hundred dollars for each additional violation of the same ordinance within one year.

    (2)

    The amount of the fine will be one hundred dollars for a first violation, five hundred dollars for a second violation of the same ordinance within one year, and one thousand dollars for each additional violation of the same ordinance within one year for infraction violations of the following building and safety ordinances:

    (A)

    Any violation of Division 72, 74, 76, 78, 710, 712, or 714.

    (B)

    A violation of Division 82 or 84, where the violation is a building or structure erected, constructed, altered, moved or maintained contrary to Division 82 or 84.

    (b)

    Misdemeanors. Except as otherwise provided by state law or this code, every misdemeanor violation of this code is punishable by imprisonment in the county jail for not more than six months, or by a fine of not more than one thousand dollars, or by both.
