The total area required to be dedicated is based on a figure of three acres of park
area per one thousand persons, and shall be computed by multiplying the number of
dwelling units to be included in the development by the applicable square footage
per unit, as follows:

As used in this division, "dwelling unit" means a building or portion thereof, or
a mobilehome, designed for residential occupation by one person or a group of two
or more persons living together as a domestic unit. However, for purposes of this
division only, a second unit as defined in Section 82-24.004 of this code and Government Code Section 65852.2 shall not be counted as a dwelling
unit.
