§ 48-16.008. Compulsory emergency ambulance service.
In the event no proposals acceptable to the county under the provisions of Section 48-16.005 are received by the county for one or more emergency response areas, the health officer shall designate in writing one or more of the ambulance service permittees (emergency and/or nonemergency) in that emergency response area to provide emergency ambulance services, without necessity of an emergency permit. From the date of such written designation until a regular ambulance service agreement is signed for the affected area(s), provision of emergency ambulance service shall be an express condition of the emergency and/or nonemergency permit and unreasonable or unjustified refusal of such calls shall be grounds for suspension or revocation of the permit(s).
